Sara Wilson

Community Coordinator
Sara coordinates community building initiatives for New Roots Institute's programming.

Sara earned her B.A. in Sociology, with a focus on environmental justice, from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After four years of working in the sexual violence field and getting her M.A. in Restorative Justice at Vermont Law and Graduate School, she is excited to use all of the wisdom she has gleaned and apply it to New Roots Institute. Sara is drawn to this work because she sees a need to shift our culture to one that no longer normalizes violence against animals, the earth, and other humans. She is energized by empowering folks to be a part of the change for a better world. Outside of work, Sara finds joy in the myriad opportunities life has to offer - hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, roller skating, snowboarding - you name it! She resides in Portland, Oregon with her dog, Buck, and cat, Hunni.
